Dr. Sharon B. DeVivoSenior Vice President,
Vaughn College
Dr. DeVito has been with Vaughn College in Queens, NY, since 1996. During her tenure, she has had responsibility for academic affairs, development, admissions, financial aid, student affairs and student affairs. She was co-chair for the strategic plan and architect of the business plan in 2004 that helped transform the College from primarily an associate’s degree granting institution to one that offers a B.S. degree in engineering, management and aviation and an M.S. in airport management. She has helped Vaughn to raise more than $4 million in private gifts and nearly $20 million in federal and state grants. Vaughn recently opened its first residence hall and plans to build a new library/ community resource center and student center. Dr. DeVito holds a bachelor’s degree from
SUNY- Albany, a Master’s from Fordham University and a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
Laurinda FerreiraFinancial Services Representative/Financial Advisor,

Laurinda Ferreira’s story is the quintessential immigrant success story. What began as a life marked by difficult and painful circumstances has become one defined by determination, self-belief and lasting empowerment. Today, as a highly successful financial advisor at MetLife, one of the world’s largest financial services companies, Laurinda is at the top of her profession. Four years ago, after more than two decades as a solo financial planner, Laurinda decided to transform her business and take it to a new level, forming a team of advisors that included her two daughters. Michell was at that time building a promising career in social work and Claudia was with Lehman Brothers with a budding career in finance. In the first year of forming her team, Laurinda experienced a 61% increase in new business. This new business was tracked by a number of new applications for financial products and financial plans. In just their first year, all three women achieved one of MetLife’s “Conference” levels of recognition.
Alison B. FlynnSenior Vice President, Operations,
GNYHA Services, Inc., and Nexera, Inc.
As Senior Vice President of these two companies within GNYHA Ventures, Inc., the for-profit business arm of the Greater New York Hospital Association, Ms. Flynn oversees and supports both companies’ internal operations. She has held leadership positions in the management consulting and healthcare for over two decades. Previously she spent two years with the international management-consulting firm founded by former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, where she led the healthcare and pharmaceutical practice. During her tenure with the firm, she conducted business overseas in India and Japan. Ms. Flynn has also held administration, operations, and supply chain positions at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center, Continuum Health Partners, and Danbury Hospital. She is currently President-Elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE)’s local chapter, Healthcare Leaders of New York (HLNY). Ms. Flynn holds a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Iona College.
Heidi LevineCo-Managing Partner,

Ms. Levine is the co-managing partner of the New York office and a member of DLA Piper's governing Executive Committee. She is also on the firm's Policy Committee, Diversity Committee, Partner Nomination Committee, and Succession Planning Committee. As national counsel, Ms. Levine formulates and implements the strategy for teams of lawyers from DLA and other law firms on all aspects of an engagement, most often in multi-district litigation proceedings. Representative engagements include Omniscan, Prempro/Premarin (hormone therapy), Phen-Fen, OxyContin and Propulsid. Ms. Levine also has significant experience in alternative dispute resolution on a global basis. In 2011, The American Lawyer named Ms. Levine to its "45 under 45" list of "The Top Young Women of the AmLaw 200." Ms. Levine graduated magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1995, where she was case notes editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review. She earned a BA from the University of Maryland.
Charlene ProunisCEO & Managing Partner,

Charlene Prounis is a two-time entrepreneur having started her second pharmaceutical advertising agency, Flashpoint Medica in 2005 which won the prestigious “Agency of the Year” award in 2008 and over 40 creative awards in 2011-2012. Flashpoint works with both a blue chip client roster and emerging companies, including Genentech, Novartis, Gilead, Acorda and Crescendo Biosciences among others. Prior to Flashpoint, Ms. Prounis founded Accel Healthcare (now Corbett Accel Healthcare Group NY), which achieved $20M in revenues in five short years from 1999 – 2004. She worked at the Grey Healthcare Group as a senior executive for 12 years. Ms. Prounis began her career as a nurse running an ICU and then transitioned to the business side as a pharmaceutical sales rep for three years, before moving into advertising. She also serves as the Vice Chair of the City University of New York Fund Board QCC, and plays an active role in the Manhasset Women’s Coalition Against Breast Cancer. Ms. Prounis holds a BSN from Adelphi Magna Cum Laude and an MBA from St. John’s University.
